Saw this quote today and it reminded me of the first book I read that really resonated with me – way before Harry Potter – a boy Ged comes of age in the classic ‘A Wizard of Earthsea.’

This is set in the 13th century, in Lincoln, and is the story of Benedict, a young boy who arrives at Lincoln castle with a burning ambition to become the most famous minstrel of his age.
